The Greenville Arts Cross Roads Arts Map aims to highlight the people who live, study, work in a thriving lesser known

area of Jersey City, the most diverse city in America. Article: The Greenville Art Crossroads also comes courtesy of organizer and artist/educator Melida Rodas. With a Poets Cafe & Talent Showcase that includes the music of Carmen Arrojo Saturday, the pop-up crossroads at 166 McAdoo Ave., continues Sunday with the Greenville Arts Crossroads Kid Edition -- a small festival unto itself. At noon, “Story Time with Millie Ansah” for book lovers kicks off, followed by creating an art mural with Imani Starr, then “Latin Soul Music with Janetza Miranda (of ‘The Voice’)- Hannah Lauren ” and finally, “Fun with the Green Chalk Poetry Society.”

“There are so many diverse up-and-coming artists with raw talent that need a platform like JCAST to put the spotlight on their work and talent. For the upcoming Arts and Studio Tour, we are creating a pathway connecting one side of Greenville to the other to allow people to walk through the neighborhood and enjoy works of art created by their neighbors. If successful, we hope to establish a more permanent Greenville Arts Crossroads,” said Melida Rodas, a Multimedia Artist/Poet and JCAST Greenville Organizer. “Our Greenville Headquarters will be at the intersection of McAdoo and Sterling, where we’re inviting visual artists, poets, musicians, and the like to perform in a talent showcase on October 1st and 2nd.”

JERSEY CITY TIMES Article : “as part of the 32nd Jersey City Arts and Studio tour - For the first time in the event’s history, artists living in the city’s Greenville neighborhood will offer a dedicated tour of their work. The experience, which was put together by a newly formed group called “Greenville Artist Crossroads,” will also showcase many of the small businesses and neighborhood organizations in the area.…( co-founder ), artist Melida Rodas, “It is where our not so polished streets, our bitter / sweet stories meander and intersect … where you may not often visit but are invited to crossover into, slow down – look around – stay a while. It is where you are a part of us and we are a part of you – sharing the same fundamental wishes, same dreams, to love and be loved, to see and be seen.”
